BWSC Coach Makes Connection with Toronto FC Head Coach

It was a very early morning on Sunday, June 28 as 500 coaches from around the world made their way to the BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario to attend a Toronto FC Open House Coaching Clinic.

Our club Bolton Wanderers Soccer Club had one representative there to represent Bolton. Our U9 2006 Girls Head Coach Nicholas Fiore, not only attended the coaching clinic, but made a connection with Toronto FC Head Coach Greg Vanney.

During and after the clinic was over Nicholas Fiore approached the MLS team head coach and asked about a few coaching points and styles that can be played at the Under 9 and grassroots level. The main reason he asked this was to benefit his team but also bring back positive and important comments to our club.

With this he has made a great connection with the Toronto FC head coach and good things can possibly come out of this in the future.

U9 Girls 2006

On Sunday, June 21, 2015 the Bolton Wanderers 2006 (U9) Girls traveled up to the
city of Scarborough to play in their first ever Competitive Soccer Tournament/Festival
to compete in the 49th Annual Robbie Tournament.
It was a bright and sunny full of soccer Father's Day and all the fathers that came to
watch their daughters couldn't be a better day out on the field!
The girls played two games which they had extreme fun in both, after the first game
they participated in the Annual Robbie Team Parade as they marched down Wexford
Hydro Park chanting there team cheers so all of their fans, family & friends can cheer
them on.
They had a team Banner letting everyone know which club they are proud to play for.
They also met two players from the USL Pro League and the Toronto FC 2 team:
Skylar Thomas & Raheem Edwards
That was a great experience as they met to professional soccer players, that play so
close to home!!
Overall are you U9 Girls had a fantastic experience at their first ever Competitive Soccer
Tournament and they are looking forward to so much more!!

U14 Boys 2001

Bolton Wanderers' U14 (2001) Boys participated in the ‘Hit the Turf’ tournament (the first tournament of the 2015 summer season) hosted by Stoney Creek Soccer Club on Sunday May 3, 2015.  Competition was mainly from the Hamilton/Niagara region, including two Regional teams.  Bolton swept the event with a strong, consistent performance from all of its players; in fact, they did not surrender a single goal while seeing nine different Bolton goal scorers through the tournament.  Offence was able to keep the competition on its toes with a strong possessional game, while defense was superb, minimizing shots on net. Goalkeeping was rock solid on key drives, and together the team brought home to their club the first trophy of the 2015 summer season.
Between the championship and the amazing weather, it was a fantastic way to start off the season!
